Your help enables
us to provide food, shelter, and clothing to needy people in
our community. THANKS!
So
far in 2009
(as of July 8th) we provided 5,655 meals and
1,885 nights lodging at the Beacon Emergency Shelter.
74% of the people that have come into the shelter with nothing
have moved into their own homes so far this year!
At the Beacon Shelter, we are ready and eager to reach people
that want to be helped. We give them food, shelter, and the
resources to help themselves and strengthen their faith
in the Lord.
"For
I was ahungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye
gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
Naked, and ye
clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison,
and ye came unto me....
Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch
as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren,
ye have done it unto me."
Matt. 25 v.35, 36, 40
Thank you for the
canned food that is dropped off at our thrift stores to help
feed the men, women, and children staying at the shelter
Thank you for bringing clothing, furniture,
toys, books, kitchenware, and other household items to be sold
at our thrift stores, which helps cover all the expenses at
the Beacon Emergency Shelter!
