SHELTER NEEDS

The Mission would not be here if not for the generous gifts and services of supporters.  The Thrift stores generate approximately 85% of our annual income, but without the additional 15% we would cease to operate.

Every year we struggle with the fact of running out of funds before all the needs are met. 

Most of our income is generated during the holiday months.  We learn to brace ourselves through the summer months, expecting higher gas prices and larger utility bills.

We believe that if more people knew how little it took to meet the most basic needs of people in crisis, support would never be an issue.

Many badly needed projects have been put on hold for financial reasons.

 Shingle replacement on leaking Shelter Roof ($10,000.00)

Remodeling of future Men's Division ($50,000.00)

Currently we have two bedrooms open for men (not including the beds set up in the hall area).  When we finish the back men's area there will be at least six rooms available and two more bathrooms. (Tripling the number of men we can help).

Repainting interior of high traffic areas in shelter ($2,000.00)

Being a former lawyers office building, the walls are now painted with a flat finished paint . Although the appearance was formal, flat paint holds finger prints, stains and is not washable.

New Carpeting in hall ways ($2,500.00)

Certain areas of our Shelter have old carpet that needs to be replaced badly.  High traffic areas are showing wear and stains even worse.

Replacing sections of old siding and painting exterior of Shelter ($1,850.00)

Replacing old tin and rotten boards on back of building with steel roof. ($4,000.00)
